DENTAL IMPLANTS: A PROMISING NEW HORIZON FOR DENTISTRY
OSSEOINTEGRATED TITANIUM DENTAL IMPLANTS
A very rapidly developing and very promising area of dentistry is the titanium dental implant that becomes integrated with the bone. These new implants are positioned in a site prepared into the bone and left undisturbed for a while. The internal portion of these implants is threaded in order for the dental prosthesis to be attached with small threaded fasteners. Treatment indications range from a single tooth implant to an implant-supported bridge and dentures. The requirement of function, durability and cosmetics are well met with the successful placement of dental implants.
